Navicat Upgrade Policy


Navicat Upgrade
Navicat upgrade policy allows customers to obtain minor software updates and bug fixes free of charge. Alternatively, customers may upgrade to a major release for a discounted price with Navicat Upgrade License.

Customer may retrieve the download information of the version they purchased from our Customer Center at any time and will never be forced to upgrade.

If a major software release is issued within 90 days of a customer's initial purchase the customer will be entitled to receive the major software upgrade free of charge.


Software Updates (Minor releases)
Software updates are minor releases that include minor feature additions, enhancements and fixes within the same version number, i.e. 8.0.2, 8.0.5, 8.0.13, etc. All registered users can receive software updates of the same version they purchased free of charge.



Software Upgrades (Major releases)
Software upgrades are major releases in which functions/ features have been changed or added to the software, Major release are also indicated by a change in the version number, i.e. 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, 9.0, 9.1, 10.0, etc. A purchase of the Upgrade License is required in order to receive the Software Upgrade(s). Alternatively, Customers can receive free software upgrades if they are under the Navicat Software Maintenance Plan.



Navicat Upgrade License
Navicat upgrade license allow customers who have purchased an older version of Navicat to upgrade to the latest major version without paying the full license fee.

Upgrade licenses are only offered to existing customer who are able to present a valid Order ID for their last purchase, registered email address or the Serial Number(1) of the existing license. Customer who have failed to prove his existing ownership of the Navicat license will not be eligible to purchase an upgrade license.

How to buy the upgrade license?

To purchase the upgrade license, please login to Navicat Customer Center, and click the "Product Upgrade and Maintenance Renewal".
